There is hereby created the Town Fire Department, which shall consist of a Fire Chief, who shall be appointed by Council, and an assistant Fire Chief, likewise so appointed, and such other persons as shall from time to time be accepted and appointed as members of the Fire Department, each of whom shall, upon proper qualifications, be an officer of the Town to the extent and with the powers and duties provided by this article.
