6.08.010: DEFINITIONS:
As used in this chapter:
COMMERCIAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION:
The production of agricultural goods for sale.
FOWL:
Geese, chickens, ducks, turkeys, peacocks, pigeons, other domestic animals of similar size.
HOME FOOD PRODUCTION:
Home based activities such as gardening, raising fowl or livestock and generally seeking ways to increase self-sufficiency in a city or suburban environment.
LARGE ANIMALS:
Animals greater than 400 pounds in weight. Horses, cattle, mules, burros, llamas, ostrich, and other domestic animals of similar size.
LIVESTOCK:
Any normally domesticated animal that is not a cat, or dog, such as: cattle, sheep, goats, mules, burros, horses, chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, llamas, etc.
MEDIUM-LARGE ANIMALS:
Animals between 151 and 400 pounds in weight. Sheep, goats, swine, and other domestic animals of similar size.
MEDIUM-SMALL ANIMALS:
Animals between 30 and 150 pounds in weight. Mini-pigs, pygmy goats, and other domestic animals of similar size.
SMALL ANIMALS:
Animals less than 30 pounds in weight. Chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, rabbits, turkeys, other domestic animals of similar size.
SUBSISTENCE FARMING:
A form of agriculture where almost all the produce goes to feed and support the household and is not for sale. Some of the output may be bartered.
VACANT ACREAGE:
Lot acreage not devoted to dwellings, garages, or accessory buildings. (Ord. 21-11, 10-7-2021)
