   (A)   Any meter deposit fee which is not claimed by the resident entitled to claim said fee within six years of the date that water service is discontinued shall be considered abandoned, and said fees shall be transferred to the Water Cash Operating Fund. Said funds shall be considered the property of the town and may be used at the discretion of the Town Council.
   (B)   Each resident of the town shall be given notice at the time water service is discontinued that the remainder of the meter deposit will be forfeited to the town if it is not claimed with six years. Each resident shall provide a forwarding address for which the town can utilize to forward notice of the refund of any remaining water meter deposit fee.
