Street tree planting shall be required along all new local, collector and arterial streets and private streets within commercial, industrial or residential subdivisions. Other projects that are required to plant street trees include a conversion or new established use, new construction, reconstruction or structurally altered building by one or more additions which the total increase in the floor area is ten percent (10%) or one thousand (1,000) square feet, whichever is the least. Notwithstanding the foregoing, an alternative street tree planting plan which varies from the standards contained herein, may be presented to the city for review and approval. The subdivider/developer or individual builder must install street trees according to a plan approved as a part of preliminary plat approval. (Ord. 2009-50, 10-6-2009)
