For purposes of determining eligibility under the Utah retirement system and provisions of the Utah state retirement and insurance benefit act, as set forth in Utah Code Annotated title 49, the city hereby certifies that all elected official positions of the city are part time. Unless otherwise provided by law, any elected official taking office for the first time on or after July 1, 2011, shall not be eligible for participation in the Utah retirement system.
