§ 51.01 WATER METERS.
   Water meters shall be installed in all new and existing buildings using city water service by a licensed plumber or contractor or as otherwise authorized by the City Utility Foreperson. The City Utility Department shall replace, and repair, existing household water meters on service lines up to one-inch outside diameter. The replacement or repair shall be done without cost to property owners or users, unless occasioned by the property owner’s or user’s negligence, misuse, or violations of federal, state, or city law, rule, ordinance, or regulation. The cost of the purchase, replacement, or repair of water meters on service lines exceeding one-inch outside diameter shall be the responsibility of the owner of the property using city water service. A deposit in such amount as established by resolution of the City Council from time to time shall be paid for replacement and repair costs.
