§ 151.01 SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL FROM SIDEWALKS.
   (A)   Removal of snow and ice. It shall be the duty of the owner and tenant of any premises abutting or adjoining any public sidewalk to remove all snow and ice from such public sidewalk. In the event removal of ice is not practicable, then it shall be the duty of the owner and tenant of any premises abutting or adjoining any public sidewalk to place sand on the icy portion of said sidewalk. Said removal or sanding must be completed before 9:00 a.m. in any commercial district and within 24 hours after snowfall in any residential district.

   (B)   Town may remove. Upon failure of an owner or a tenant to comply with provisions of this section, the town shall have the power, but not the obligation to remove such snow and ice and assess the cost thereof against the premises abutting the sidewalk. Such assessment shall be certified to the County Assessor or other proper county official having charge of the making of the assessment role and such charge shall be placed on the assessment role and collected in the same manner as other town taxes are collected.
