§ 71.02 GOLF CARTS.
   (A)   The operation of golf carts is authorized between sunrise and sunset on the ways of the town open to the public. A GOLF CART means a motor vehicle that is designed for use on a golf course to carry a person or persons and golf equipment and that has an average speed of less than 15 mph. Persons operating a golf cart, as authorized herein, shall obey all traffic laws enacted by the state or the town, including, but not limited to, holding a valid driver’s license or low-speed restricted driver’s license issued by the state unless one of the exemptions contained in M.C.A. § 61-5-104 applies. As to Ellery Avenue, crossing only is authorized. All golf carts shall display the slow vehicle triangle sign on the back of the cart, as well as at least one and not more than two headlamps; at least one taillamp; at least one reflector; stop lamps; a horn; and a mirror that reflects to the driver view of the highway.
   (B)   Pursuant to M.C.A. § 61-9-420, each motor vehicle passenger who is under six years of age and weighs less than 60 pounds must be transported and properly restrained in a child safety restraint. The child safety restraint must be appropriate for the height and weight of the child as indicated by manufacturer standards.
