(a) Every watercraft owner shall attach to each side of the bow of such watercraft the identification number in such manner as may be prescribed by the rules and regulations of the Ohio Division of Watercraft in order that it shall be clearly visible. The number shall be maintained in a legible condition at all times. The certificate of number issued by the Chief of the Ohio Division of Watercraft shall be pocket size and shall be available at all times for inspection on the watercraft for which issued, whenever such watercraft is in operation.
(b) No number other than the number assigned to a watercraft or granted by reciprocity pursuant to Ohio R.C. Chapter 1547 shall be painted, attached or otherwise displayed on either side of the bow of such watercraft.
