(EDITOR'S NOTE: See Section 303.99 for misdemeanor classifications and penalties.)
(a) Whenever any bicycle shall be operated by any minor under the age of eighteen years in violation of the provisions of this chapter, such bicycle may be seized by any member the Police Department and impounded in the Village Hall. The bicycle so impounded shall be surrendered to the parent or guardian of such minor, without charge, after a full explanation to such parent or guardian of the reason for impounding such bicycle. A complete record of each such impounding shall be kept by the Police Chief.
(b) The Police Chief or any member of the Police Department shall have the authority to remove the license plate from any bicycle and impound the same, together with the license issued to the owner of such bicycle, for a period of not to exceed five days if the bicycle is being operated in an unsafe manner or contrary to the regulations of this Traffic Code. Repetitions of successive violations shall be sufficient cause for complete revocation of the license and tag. Removal of the license plate and impounding of bicycles shall be in addition to other penalties provided for by this Traffic Code.

(c) Whoever violates Section 373.10 is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree for a first offense and on each subsequent offense is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
