Before any appointment shall be made to the Police Department, each person applying for an appointment shall submit to a complete physical examination by a medical doctor to be selected and named by the Mayor. The medical doctor shall then file with Council his written report of the findings in making the physical examination. The cost of such physical examination shall be paid by the Village out of the Safety Fund. Council shall then review the doctor's written medical report before determining whether any appointment shall be made.
