(A) Any employee who earns an associate, baccalaureate, masters or doctorate degree from an accredited and generally recognized school, college or university shall receive, in addition to his or her regular salary, a 5% education bonus for each degree earned, if the earned degree is a greater degree than the minimum educational requirement for the employee’s position as specified in the class specifications.
(B) This bonus is not applicable to high school diplomas, whether or not required by a particular class specification.
