§ 94.34  DESTRUCTION OR ADOPTION OF UNREDEEMED ANIMAL.
   (A)   If an impounded animal is not redeemed by the owner or keeper within the period prescribed, it may be destroyed in a humane manner or shall become the property of the animal shelter and offered for adoption to a responsible adult who is willing to comply with this chapter and with policies promulgated by the County Board of Health.
   (B)   No animal which has been impounded by reason of it being a stray, unclaimed by its owner or keeper, shall be allowed to be adopted from the animal shelter during a period of emergency rabies quarantine invoked by special authorization of the County Health Director.
