505.06B FAILURE TO REGISTER DOG; ALTERATION OR FORGING OF REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE OR TAG.
   (a)   Any person who owns, keeps or harbors a dog subject to registration under the provisions of West Virginia Code 19-20-1 et seq., and who fails, refuses or neglects to register such dog shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not less than twenty-five ($25.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00).
   (b)   Any person who shall alter or forge any registration tag provided for by West Virginia Code 19-20-1 et seq., or display, present or utter such tag as valid with knowledge that it has been altered or forged, or who knowingly causes or permits any dog owned, kept or harbored by him to wear any fictitious, altered or invalid registration tag in place of a valid tag as required under the provisions of West Virginia Code 19-20-1 et seq., shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment in the regional jail system for not more than thirty days or by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00), or both such fine and imprisonment.
