The City may acquire any interest in real property by deed, deed of trust, trust instrument, or other such manner of conveyance or transfer whatsoever, by gift, bequest or donation, provided that such interest is found to be essential or convenient to carry into effect corporate purposes of the City. Provided, that nothing herein shall be construed as obviating procedures necessary and appropriate for the purchase of real property or acquisition by eminent domain.
