The City Manager shall have all necessary power and authority to contract and expend public funds for the purchase of one or more policies of public liability insurance, to include professional liability insurance, providing the Municipality, elected officials, officers, agents and employees insurance coverage for all liability as contemplated by Section 109.01 in addition to all insurance coverage as has heretofore been obtained. Further, such independent agencies of the City, such as the Sanitary Sewer Board or Hospital, shall have the option to be included in the coverage of all such policies of insurance which may be purchased; provided that such independent agencies shall be obliged to bear a proportionate share of the expense of such policies of insurance.
