840.11   GENERAL PROVISIONS.
   (a)   Local alarms shall not resemble the sound of any emergency signal, civil defense alarm or siren. All local alarms shall have the capacity to reset themselves after fifteen (15) minutes.
   (b)   The provisions of subsection (a) hereof are in addition to those provisions in this chapter which are applicable to all alarm users, alarm businesses and alarm systems.
   (c)   Every alarm business selling, leasing or furnishing to any user an alarm system which is installed on premises located in the City shall furnish the user with his or her responsibilities under this chapter and with instructions that provide information to enable such user to operate the alarm system properly and to obtain service for the alarm system at any time.
   (d)   Conditions imposed by the City of Fairlawn Planning Commission upon a business regarding the installation, maintenance and monitoring of an alarm system shall be strictly followed except as modified by City of Fairlawn code changes effective April 1, 2010 and thereafter.
   (e)   In addition to the conditions imposed by the Ohio Fire Code upon alarm monitoring companies, all alarm companies operating within the jurisdiction of the City of Fairlawn shall:
      (1)   Annually file with the Fire Prevention Bureau of the Division of Fire and Emergency Rescue Services a listing of all businesses within the City of Fairlawn being monitored by it. Said listing shall include the name of the business, business address, name, address, city and state and day and evening phone number(s) of the contact individual for each business being monitored; and
      (2)   Immediately notify the Fire Prevention Bureau of the Division of Fire and Emergency Rescue Services in writing of any cancellations or stoppages or interruptions of its monitoring of alarm systems within the City of Fairlawn whether due to nonpayment, client request or equipment malfunction or failure.
   (f)   All business owners conducting business within the jurisdiction within the City of Fairlawn shall:
      (1)   Provide the Fire Prevention Bureau of the Division of Fire and Emergency Rescue Services the name, address, city and state, and phone number of the alarm monitoring service providing service for its Fairlawn business location;
      (2)   Provide the City of Fairlawn Communications Center with all emergency contact information for its business including the name, address, city and state and day and evening phone number(s) of the individual to be contacted in case of an emergency.
