(a) There is hereby established the job classification of "intermittent employee" within the City. "Intermittent employee" means any person who has taken and passed a competitive exam for a classified position and works on an irregular schedule which is not predictable, but is based on and determined by the fluctuating demands of the position held.
(b) The job classification of intermittent employee shall be a classified position with civil service protection.
