We, the people of the City of Fairlawn, in the County of Summit, and the State of Ohio, grateful to Almighty God for the privileges and freedom we enjoy, aware of our responsibilities to preserve and extend these benefits for future generations, and in order to secure for ourselves the benefits of Municipal home rule and to exercise all the powers of local self-government under the Constitution and laws of the State of Ohio, do hereby frame and adopt this Charter for the government of the City of Fairlawn.
