§ 50.16 UNLAWFUL TO HARBOR A DOG OR ANIMAL IN AN ENCLOSED AREA NEAR METER.
It is further unlawful for any person, firm, corporation or customer (collectively hereinafter referred to as the “customer”) to harbor a dog or other animal in an enclosed or fenced area within which lies the city water meter or electric meter or water or electric service connections of the city with its customers, where the dog or other animal shall interfere with the city water and electric system personnel reading meters or maintaining the water and electric distribution facilities. The customer may be allowed to maintain an enclosed or fenced area for their dog or animal, if the customer, at the customer’s own cost, installs or has installed a utility meter that may be read remotely. However, all authorized agents or employees of the city shall still have free access to the customer’s premises at all reasonable hours for the purpose of performing maintenance work, examining, inspecting, repairing, replacing, exchanging, testing or removing meters or other equipment.
