(A) Persons residing outside the city are eligible to take the examination for position in either the Fire or Police Department of the city; provided that those persons, on notification of a pending appointment to the Fire or Police Department of the city, shall become a resident of the city within 90 days of the notification.
(B) Failure to become a resident of the city, as aforesaid shall eliminate the person’s name from the “final eligible register” and any further consideration.
