(A) Membership. The membership of the FEDC shall be composed of nine members, seven of whom shall be voting members, one of whom shall be appointed chair by the Mayor. There shall be one member of the FEDC who shall be the Economic Development Director. The Economic Development Director shall not be entitled to vote on FEDC matters. There shall also be one member of the FEDC who shall be on the Fairfield Industrial Committee. The Fairfield Industrial Committee member shall not be entitled to vote on FEDC matters. The appointments to this commission shall be made by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council.
(B) Terms of office.
(1) The terms of office for the FEDC shall be for periods of three years. Members appointed at the onset shall be for the following terms:
(a) Three members for a three-year term;
(b) Two members for a two-year term;
(c) Two members for a one- year term.
(2) The terms of office shall commence on their appointment. For the initial appointment at the onset, the Mayor shall designate the initial term of each member (being either a three-year, two-year, or one-year initial appointment). Subsequent appointments shall be for three-year terms. A vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired term of the member whose seat has become vacant.
