The City Collector is authorized to select those assistants as he or she shall deem necessary to the proper discharge of the duties of his or her office, subject to the approval of the City Council. Before entering upon the duties of their positions, these assistants shall execute a bond in the amount of $500,000, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of their positions.
