The city hereby adopts division 2.2 Code Hearing Departments, ILCS Ch. 65 , Act 5, § 1-2.2, and all amendments and modifications thereto, and establishes a general ordinance hearing unit. The Code Hearing Unit shall consist of the Hearing Officer and the City Clerk. The function of the general ordinance hearing unit is to expedite the prosecution and correction of general ordinance violations in the manner set forth in this chapter. The general ordinance hearing unit may adjudicate any violation of a city ordinance except for building code violations, and any offense under the Illinois Vehicle Code or a similar offense that is a traffic regulation governing the movement of vehicles and except for any reportable offense under section 6-204 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
