§ 90.019 POWERS OF ANIMAL CONTROL WARDEN.
   (A)   The animal control wardens are, for the purpose of enforcing this chapter, clothed with power of police officers within the municipality, and as police officers, have the power to make arrests on view or issue citations for violations of this chapter and to execute and serve warrants and processes issued by the city, state or County Circuit Court; however, these police officers are prohibited from carrying firearms, but are authorized to carry pepper-mace, after proper training, to protect themselves from dangerous or vicious animals, and may use a tranquilizer gun or other equipment to capture or contain animals.
   (B)   For the purpose of carrying out these provisions of this chapter, and making inspections hereunder, the Administrator or animal control wardens or any officer of the law may enter upon private premises to inspect, issue citations, serve warrants or apprehend any animal in violation of this chapter, or to destroy an animal if deemed necessary by the officers.
   (C)   If an owner shall refuse a request by the officers to deliver over an animal or a property owner refuses entry upon his or her property of officers engaged in enforcing this chapter, he or she shall be in violation of this chapter.
