6-3-1: DEFINITIONS:
For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms, phrases, words and their derivation shall have the meanings given herein. When not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present include the future, words in the plural number include the singular, and words in the singular number include the plural number. The word "shall" is always mandatory and not merely directory.
CITY: The city of Fairfield, Idaho.
DIRECTOR: The city public works director or his or her designee.
MOTOR VEHICLE: Every self-propelled vehicle designed for carrying persons or property upon a public street or highway, including motorcycles, regardless of whether the motor vehicle is in operable condition.
PERSON: Means and includes any individual, partnership, association, firm, corporation, company or organization of any kind.
SIDEWALK: The portion of the parkway of a street set aside and intended for the use of pedestrians.
STREET: Highways, roads, alleys and bridges dedicated, purchased or otherwise acquired for the public, including the unimproved or unused portion thereof, maintained and open to use by the public.
TRAILER: Every vehicle with or without motive power designed for carrying persons or property and for being drawn by a motor vehicle.
VEHICLE: Every device designed for or in which persons or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a public street or highway, including bicycles. (Ord. 236, 1-15-2009)
