SECTION 6. FIRE PROTECTION.

The Council shall provide by ordinance for the protection of lives and property within the Village from fire, either by the establishment of a Fire Force or by contract, or by both. The Mayor shall appoint, with the concurrence of Council, the Chief of the Fire Department, who shall in all cases be a member of the unclassified service.
