8-1-15: RESTRICTED WEIGHT LIMITATIONS ON CERTAIN STREETS:
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any motor vehicle having a gross weight in excess of ten (10) tons on the following street(s) or avenue(s) in the village (collectively herein "streets"):
Sixth Avenue from its intersection of Seventh Avenue to its intersection with 12th Street.
   (B)   Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this section, vehicles having a gross weight in excess of ten (10) tons shall be permitted to drive or operate on such streets under the following exceptions:
      1.   Written permission granted from the chief of police of the village of Erie,
      2.   A motor home or the like owned or operated by an individual who resides in a residence located along a street or a visitor to a residence located along a street.
   (C)   The village shall erect a sign at each end of the street indicating that the gross weight of vehicles is restricted by ordinance.
   (D)   The general penalty provision under this code shall apply. (Ord. 612, 12-11-2007)
