It shall be unlawful for any person to drink or give away any intoxicating liquor, or to possess, or to carry any intoxicating liquor, except if in the original package and with the seal unbroken, upon any sidewalk, street, alley, park or other public place within the village limits. "Intoxicating liquor" means any spirits, wines, beers, ales, or other liquids containing more than one-half (1/2) of one percent (1%) of alcohol by volume which is fit for beverage purposes.
