Upon reliable reports and determination by the Chief of Police and Zoning Inspector that a building is unsafe and/or unsanitary, the Village Official shall issue an oral warning to the owner or agent and give him/her a copy of this code. If that warning is ignored, a written warning will be issued by certified mail by the Administrator two weeks later. If nothing is done in the next two weeks, the unsafe or unsanitary structure is hereby declared to be illegal and shall be abated by repair and rehabilitation or by demolition in accordance with the procedures set forth in this chapter.
