7-10-3: MOTORIZED NONSTANDARD VEHICLE REGULATIONS:
   A.   1. The operator must possess a valid driver's license.
      2.   The operator if under the age of eighteen (18) must wear a helmet.
      3.   The operator must obey all traffic laws and drive with due regard to pedestrians.
      4.   The operator must stay to the right side of the roadway while operating.
      5.   The operator shall obey all speed limits.
      6.   Operation prohibited:
         a.   East Main Street (U.S. 287).
         b.   West Main Street (MT 287).
         c.   North Main Street (U.S. 287).
      7.   Only one (1) person permitted.
      8.   Lamps and other equipment required:
         a.   When in use at dawn, dusk, or nighttime must be equipped with:
            (1)   A lamp on the front emitting a white light visible from a distance of at least five hundred feet (500') to the front. In lieu of a lamp affixed to the motorized nonstandard vehicle an operator may use a lamp with equal intensity and visibility affixed to the operator's helmet or head and facing forward;
            (2)   Facing the rear, either a lamp emitting a red light visible from a distance of at least five hundred feet (500') to the rear or a red reflector visible from a distance of at least five hundred feet (500') to the rear when illuminated by low-beam motor vehicle headlamps; and
            (3)   Reflective material large and reflective enough to be visible from the left and right sides from a distance of at least five hundred feet (500') when illuminated by low-beam motor vehicle headlamps.
   (A) Reflective material may include but is not limited to a vest or jacket meeting the above requirements.
      9.   Brakes:
         a.   Must be equipped with a brake enabling the operator to stop the motorized nonstandard vehicle within no more than twenty five feet (25') from a speed of ten (10) miles an hour on dry, level, clean pavement. (Ord. 143, 8-10-2017)
