Montana Code Annotated section 61-12-401 authorizes law enforcement agencies to take into custody any motor vehicle found abandoned for a period of forty eight (48) hours or more on a public highway or for a period of five (5) days or more on a city street. Unless otherwise specified in this chapter, the town incorporates Montana Code Annotated titles 61 and 75 to enforce its abandoned and junk vehicle policy.
