A. Appointment Of Members: The mayor, by and with the consent of the board of commissioners, is hereby authorized and directed to appoint four (4) members of the metropolitan area planning commission as provided by law. The mayor may also appoint one of the board of commissioners to serve as an ex officio member of the metropolitan area planning commission. The mayor and board of commissioners are authorized to appoint one additional member of the metropolitan area planning commission. Appointees shall be residents of the city of Enid for a period of three (3) years or more immediately preceding their appointment and shall hold no other municipal office except those expressly provided for by state law.
B. Term Of Office: The members of the planning commission shall hold office for a term of four (4) years or until their successors are appointed and qualified. The appointments shall be made in such a manner that the term of every member shall expire in March of each year. (Ord. 2007-35, 12-4-2007)
