§ 7-3-6 BOATS AND FLOTATION DEVICES.
   (A)   Operation of boats. Nonmotorized boats only may be operated on the city operated reservations at Crosslin Park, Government Springs Park and Meadowlake Park.
      (1)   Age restriction. No person under the age of 12 may operate any craft on city operated reservations. They may be a passenger of someone aged 16 or older with parent/guardian permission.
      (2)   Boat size. Boats must be less than 14 feet in length.
      (3)   Safety requirements.
         (a)   Personal flotation device or PFD (life jacket);
         (b)   All boats must carry one wearable USCG approved PFD for each person on board;
         (c)   All passengers 12 years and younger on boats must wear a United States Coast Guard approved PFD whenever the vessel is underway; and
         (d)   Life jackets must:
            1.   Be United States Coast Guard (USCG) approved;
            2.   Be in good and serviceable condition; and
            3.   Must be of suitable size for the intended person, and approved for the activity.
      (4)   Boating hours. Boating hours are from sunrise to sundown. At no point shall anyone operate any craft on city operated reservations outside of daylight hours.
   (B)   Fishing from floats. It shall be unlawful for any person to fish from a fisherman’s float in any city operated reservation.
   (C)   Violations.
      (1)   A violation of any subsection of this section is subject to a fine of up to $100 plus costs for each violation.
      (2)   Any person convicted of a violation shall be trespassed from boating on city operated reservations.
