It shall be deemed reckless driving for any person to drive a motor vehicle in a careless or wanton manner without regard for the safety of persons or property or in violation of the conditions outlined in subsection 6-5-1A of this chapter. A violation of this section has a maximum fine of five hundred dollars ($500.00) plus costs unless the person has previously been convicted of a violation of this section, then the violation of this section shall have a maximum fine of seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) plus costs.
