A. Appointment: In addition to the regular full time police officers, the police chief may appoint reserve police officers.
B. Volunteer Positions; Limitations:
1. Reserve police officers serve at the pleasure of the police chief and are considered volunteers, not employees.
2. Such reserve police officers may be released from their volunteer position without notice or reason given.
3. The police civil service charter, the collective bargaining agreement, and the personnel manual do not apply to reserve police officers.
C. Powers And Duties: Reserve police officers do have the powers, duties, and functions of regular full time police officers. (Ord. 2002-10, 4-16-2002)
