Whenever necessary for purposes of investigating or enforcing suspected violations of the Property Maintenance Code, the Housing Officer may enter premises and structures at all reasonable times to inspect same, or to perform duties imposed by the Code. If such property is occupied, proper identification first shall be presented and entry requested. If no response is received to the request for entry, the Housing Officer shall leave notice reasonably calculated to advise of impending inspection and the means whereby the City may be contacted with regard to such inspection. If no objection is made to the City, the Housing Officer may cause the inspection to proceed, as stated in the notice. If such entry is refused, the Housing Officer shall have recourse to every remedy at law to effect such entry.
