(a) Remodeling, rehabilitation and new construction activities require the same permits from the City or other authorizing source, and the payment of the same fees, as are required on a new structure or undeveloped premises. This requirement pertains to structural and building support systems and shall not necessarily pertain to superficial structural embellishments like new siding, roofing and the like.
(b) Whenever it comes to the attention of the Housing Officer that work is being performed contrary to this chapter, a stop work order shall be promptly issued to the owner of the premises involved, the agent of such owner and/or the person doing such work. The Housing Officer shall also post a placard at the site of the work informing the public and all concerned that work at the site has been stopped by an official order. Such order may be oral or written and shall, in any case, state the conditions under which the work may be resumed. Such order shall also direct the performance of such work as may be necessary to remove any violation of these Codified Ordinances. A stop work order shall not obviate the need for nuisance abatement in accordance with this chapter.
