440.11 SNOW REMOVAL EQUIPMENT.
   (a)   Emergency Vehicle Defined. As used in this section "emergency vehicle" means a snow removal or de-icing vehicle while actually engaged in de-icing work or snow removal work or in plowing the snow from the streets or parts of the streets and equipped with at least two flashing lights visible under normal atmospheric conditions from a distance of 500 feet to the front of such vehicle and at least two flashing red lights visible under normal atmospheric conditions from a distance of 500 feet to the rear of such vehicle.
   (b)   Right-of-Way. The driver of every other vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to such de-icing vehicles, snow removing vehicles or snow plows, when they are operating in the actual act of plowing snow, applying material to the streets for ice control or in the act of removing snow, by immediately driving to a position parallel to and as close as possible to the curb of the highway or street clear of any intersection and stopping and remaining in such position until the emergency vehicle has passed, except when otherwise directed by a police officer.
   (c)   Traffic Safety. The driver of an emergency vehicle is not, by this section, relieved from the duties to drive with due regard for the safety of all persons and property upon the highway and, upon approaching a red or stop signal or any stop sign, such driver shall slow down as necessary for safety to traffic, but may proceed cautiously past such red light or stop sign or signal with due regard for the safety of all persons using the highway.
