There is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City of Ely, Nevada, for the purpose of providing minimum standards to safeguard the life or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulation and controlling the design, construction, installation, quality of materials, location, operation, and maintenance or use of heating, ventilating, cooling, refrigeration systems, incinerators and other miscellaneous heat producing appliances, including permits and penalties, that certain code known as the International Mechanical Code (IMC) produced by the International Code Council (ICC), being particularly the 2018 edition thereof and the whole thereof, and official amendments and supplements thereto, and future editions on their effective date, save and except for such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, of which not less one (1) copy now on file, in the office of the city clerk, and the same is adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and the provisions thereof shall be controlling pursuant to the scope of said code within the City of Ely, state of Nevada.
