For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
PAWNBROKER. Anyone who, as a regular course of business, loans money on the deposit of personal property, or who deals in the purchase, exchange, or possession of personal property on the condition of reselling the personal property back to the pledger or depositor, or who loans or advances money on personal property by taking such property into his, her, or their possession as security, and who sells the unredeemed pledges together with such new merchandise as will facilitate the sale of the same.
SECONDHAND DEALER. Any person who in the regular course of business purchases, trades, exchanges, or sells any secondhand merchandise for value.
