(A) That the codes described and as set forth below in this division (5), three copies of which are on file in the office of the Village Clerk, of the Village of Elwood, are hereby adopted as the Building Code of the Village of Elwood, in the State of Illinois, for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said codes are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this subchapter with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in this subchapter, excepting there from any conflict with the Village of Elwood fee schedule ordinance. The following codes are adopted:
(1) International Building Code, 2018 Edition;
(2) International Residential Code, 2018 Edition;
(3) International Mechanical Code, 2018 Edition;
(4) International Fuel Gas Code, 2018 Edition;
(5) National Electric Code, 2017 Edition;
(6) Illinois Plumbing Code, 2014 Edition;
(7) International Property Maintenance Code, 2018 Edition;
(8) International Fire Code, 2018 Edition;
(9) Illinois Accessibility Code, 1997 Edition;
(10) NFPA 101 Life safety Code, 2015 Edition;
(11) International Urban-Wildland Interface, 2018 Edition Code;
(12) International Existing Building Code, 2018 Edition;
(13) International Energy Conservation Code, 2015 Edition; and
(14) International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, 2018 Edition.
(B) Code conflicts. When there is conflict between one of the adopted codes, the stricter of the code requirements shall apply.
