§ 153.20 ADOPTION OF NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CODES.
   (A)   Pursuant to the authority granted in Public Act 80-453 as amended by Public Act 81-1374, ILCS Ch. 70, Act 705, § 0.01 as amended, and the provisions of ILCS Ch. 50, Act 220, §§ 0.01 et seq., there is hereby adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Elwood Township Fire Protection District, Will County, Illinois, for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, and for the prevention and control of fire, those certain codes known as the Boca National Building Code - 1999 and later editorials as they are published. The provisions of the aforesaid codes are incorporated herein by reference and are further clarified in this subchapter.
   (B)   The clarified provisions, together with the aforesaid codes and other provisions specifically adopted herein shall be collectively known as the Elwood Township Fire Protection District Building Code Ordinance. Three copies of the aforesaid codes have been on file for at least 15 days prior to the adoption hereof and are now on file in the office of the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Elwood Fire Protection District, and have been there kept available for public use, inspection and examination, and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein.
   (C)   From the date on which this subchapter shall take effect, the provisions of the aforesaid Codes as clarified by this subchapter shall be controlling within the corporate limits of the Elwood Fire Protection District, Will County, Illinois.
