(A) Before entering upon the duties of a police officer, each police officer, including the Chief of Police, shall take and subscribe the following oath:
“I, , do solemnly swear of affirm that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Illinois and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of police officer of the Village of Elwood according to the best of my ability.
Subscribed and sworn to before me this ____ day of ____________, 20___.
Notary Public”
(B) The oath, so subscribed, shall be filed in the office of the Village Clerk.
