§ 36.07 GENERAL DUTIES FOR ALL SWORN OFFICERS OF THE DEPARTMENT.
   (A)   It shall be the duty of all sworn members of the Department to enforce all federal, state and local laws and ordinances within the Department’s jurisdiction and to preserve order and maintain the peace. Any sworn member shall have authority to make arrests in accordance with applicable law.
   (B)   It shall be the duty of all sworn members of the Department to devote their time and attention to the discharge of their duties, to report to the Chief of Police at such times and places as he or she may require, and to obey the lawful order of superior officers.
   (C)   No member of the Department force (sworn or non-sworn) shall become or furnish bail for any person arrested for violation of any provisions of any village ordinance or of the laws of the state or federal government.
   (D)   It shall be the duty of the police force to aid the Elwood Fire Protection District by giving alarms in case of fire and by clearing the streets or grounds in the immediate vicinity of any fire, so that the members of the Elwood Fire Protection District shall not be hindered or obstructed in the performance of their duties.
