§ 36.02 PURPOSES; FUNCTION.

   The Department shall be charged with the following responsibilities:

   (A)   To suppress crime;

   (B)   To protect life and property;

   (C)   To preserve law and order;

   (D)   To enforce the laws of the United States of America, the State of Illinois and the ordinances of the village;

   (E)   To detect, and apprehend criminal and traffic offenders; and

   (F)   Such other duties and responsibilities as may from time to time be imposed by the corporate authorities.
