17-29: DEFINITIONS:
GROSS WEIGHT: The weight of a vehicle without load plus the weight of any load therein or thereon.
MOTOR VEHICLE: Every vehicle and/or truck as herein defined which is self-propelled.
OPERATOR: Any person who drives or is in actual physical control of a vehicle and/or motor vehicle, or who is exercising control over or steering a vehicle being towed by a motor vehicle.
PARK: As it applies to motor vehicles as defined herein, means to bring to a stop and keep standing at the edge of a public roadway; to leave temporarily on a public way or in a parking lot, garage, or empty lot on, at, or near any thoroughfare, whether the vehicle is occupied or unoccupied by an operator, while the vehicle is operational.
THOROUGHFARE: Any street, roadway, highway, or way when any part thereof is open to the use of the public for purposes of vehicular travel.
VEHICLE: A device in, upon, or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a public thoroughfare. (Ord. 84-216 § 1, 4-9-1984)
