(A) There is hereby created the position of part- time firefighter in the Village of Elmwood Place, Ohio.
(B) All part-time firefighters shall be appointed by the Mayor with the confirmation of the Council, shall serve under the authority of the Village Volunteer Fire Department, and shall be subject to all relevant village and state regulations governing part- time and volunteer firefighters.
(C) All part-time firefighters shall be qualified and shall have obtained no less than the minimum training mandated by the State of Ohio.
(D) All part-time firefighters shall be on duty no more than 36 hours a week, and shall be compensated and equipped as determined by ordinance.

(E) Part-time firefighters shall be paid time and one-half for working the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, and Memorial Day.
