§ 33.11  ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE CHIEF OF POLICE.
   (A)   There is hereby created the position of Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police.
   (B)   The person so appointed to the position shall be a fully certified and sworn village police officer.
   (C)   The position of Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police shall be an unpaid position, in that the regular pay of police officers, at the rate of Lieutenant, shall cover the duties.
   (D)   The duties of the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police shall be to act as the officer in charge during such times as the Chief of Police shall be absent, and to do other such duties as the Mayor and/or Police Chief shall designate during his or her regular tour of duty.  He or she shall report to the Chief of Police during the normal course of their duties, and shall report directly to the Mayor when the Chief of Police is unavailable.
   (E)   The Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police shall hold the rank of acting Police Captain.
   (F)   The Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall serve at the continuing pleasure of the Mayor.
