(A) The Mayor or Police Chief shall have the authority to request any police officer to be examined by a physician or psychiatrist normally used by the Police Department to determine the ability of the officer to perform his or her duties.
(B) The cost of the examination shall be paid by the village.
(C) Should the officer requested to be examined refuse the request, or not make an effort to follow the doctor’s recommendation, the officer shall be deemed guilty of inefficiency, insubordination, and/or neglect of duty.
